Girls Youth - Premiership winners
The Shellharbour Swans Youth Girls won the Youth Girls grandfinal 3.7.25 over Figtree Roos 3.5.23 in what was a controversal finish. Due to a scoring error the game was initiallly declared a draw and extra time played which was won by Figtree. A review has been conducted by the Regional Committee and the correct decision announced yesterday with the team to receive their trophy and premiership medals at the Regional Grandfinal for other grades at North Dalton Park on September 12th - at the completion of the Under 11's grandfinal.
The Club Committee is very proud of the Girls Youth team. They have faced a year of many distractions on and off the field which they have dealt with as the mature young ladies they are. On the field they have remained focused on enjoying their footy and getting the most out of their sport and have come away with the ultimate prize. We would particularly like to thank them for the manner which they conducted themselves with the controversy surrounding the grandfinal result. Their coaching team, parents and family supporters should be very proud of their professional footy team comprising individuals who maintain great sportsmanship with maturity beyond their years.
3 of the girls will now go away to Melbourne representing the Club in the NSW/ACT National Team to play in the National competition commencing on September 7th. They are Talarah Bell, Emma Carberry & Melanie Hampton. We wish them well and trust they will enjoy the experience
Under 11's through to Grand Final
The Shellharbour Swans Under 11's team continued their winning way with a strong win over Minor Premiers Kiama last Sunday and have now booked a spot in the grandfinal to be played on September 12th at North Dalton Park. Their opponents will be the winners of the Preliminary final to be played on Father's day at Kiama between Kiama and Wollongong Lions.
As always there was great rivalry between the Swans and Kiama with a great 3rd quarter from the Swans the difference between the two sides.
Prelimary Final - Father's Day - Special note for Auskick, Under 9's & 10's
Reminding everyone that all Auskickers are invited to the annual Auskick Regional Gala Day to be held this Sunday. Sept 5 at Bonaira Oval, Kiama.Starts at 9am and will run for around 1 hour. This is always a fun day and celebrates another season of footy and in many cases the very first season for some of our little ones. Children DO NOT need to be in a club group, they are more than welcome to attend with their families irrespective of whether anyone else from their club is attending. The children will be placed in groups together and there will be no modified AFL game in this session - just little fun games and a few skill drills.Plus - there's also going to be a jumping castle and giveaways for every child attending. We also invite any children and families who may be looking at Auskick for next season to come along and give it a try. There is no experience needed and it's all about fun. So any current Auskickers are encouraged to bring a friend.
The Under 9's and 10's will participate in a non competitive modified game

2010 Playing Costs
have been set
The costs of participation for 2010 are as follows. Both Auskick (Under9) and Juniors will have a registration cost of $70. With Auskick the cost includes the Auskick pack provided by the AFL - Details available here
During registration the Club will provide the opportunity to purchase socks ($10) & shorts ($25) at bulk purchase costs. The prices for shorts and socks are considered bargain prices if you try and purchase locally and was undertaken due to the difficulty obtaining locally and to keep the team presentation uniform for our competition games.
The $70 registration fee covers the cost of League affiliation fees, Insurance, playing guernseys, playing and training equipment and council fees for use of grounds. As an indication the cost per player in 2007 was $79 making the support we receive from our sponsors and our fundraising activities so essential. Please support them whereever possible
